New Organic and ECO Friendly Products |

SAFER CARE FOR YOUR CHILDREN AND OUR STAFF MEMBERS
Burlington Children's Centre is pleased to announce the introduction of cleaning products and household items that will be ORGANIC. Recent scientific data has demonstrated that there are many toxins and carcinogens in commonly used cleaning products. I personally have determined to use organic natural products myself recently and do believe there are many chemicals that are attributing to many of the health problems of today. Although our government standards are fairly strict they do allow for small amounts of toxins etc. to be in products.
The organic products we are using:
- Liquid Hand Soap - Nature Clean
- Diaper Wipes - Tushies, 7th Generation, Pampers Sensitive
- Benefact Sanitizer for diaper changing, tables, toilets, sinks
- All Purpose Cleaner for tables, toys, etc.
- Liquid Dish Detergent for washing items; toys, shelves, dishes, etc.
- Tub and toilet cream scrub
- Floor cleaner soap
- Dishwater detergent
- Laundry detergent
- Fabric softener

New Optimal Health Menu |
|
Burlington Children's Centre has revised its' menu to address many of the concerns of today. We continuously strive to support our families and provide the best possible care.
In the interest of our children and ourselves we endeavour to promote healthy eating habits. We are following the new Canada Food Guidelines as well as utilizing fresh produce as much as possible. We are minimizing trans-fat in food. We believe that the introduction of these foods will become habitual for children to enjoy rather than many of the unhealthy alternatives. Exposure to a variety of flavours and textures will enhance their enjoyment of food and different cultures.
Our menu will:
- Minimize all Trans-fats serving 'Becel', olive and canola oil only
- Fresh produce as much as possible
- Locally farmed produce as seasons and availability permit
- Emphasize plenty of fruit and vegetable (especially dark green vegetables; broccoli, spinach, romaine, kale, etc.
- Grains whole wheat bread - brown rice, wholewheats, pastas, biscuits
- Legumes - seeds - soy, flax, beans, hummus
- Diary - 2% (infants - whole milk), yogurt, low fat cheeses
- Peanut Free - utilizing soy butter, pumpkin seeds, etc.
- Water - Reverse Osmosis filtered drinking water
- Limiting sugar, fats and salt to a minimum
